How is Plasma different from other blockchains?

Plasma is purpose-built for stablecoin payments, not general-purpose computation. It includes features like zero-fee USD₮ transfers, custom gas tokens, and confidential but compliant transactions. These capabilities are designed to support high-volume, global money movement.

What other network features does Plasma support?

Plasma will include a trust-minimized Bitcoin bridge, allowing BTC to flow into the network securely.

Will all Plasma features be available at launch?

No. Plasma will launch with a mainnet beta that includes the core architecture: PlasmaBFT for consensus and a modified Reth execution layer for EVM compatibility.

Other features, such as confidential transactions and the Bitcoin bridge, will be rolled out incrementally as the network matures.

Why does Plasma support zero-fee USD₮ transfers?

Plasma uses a protocol-level paymaster to sponsor gas for USD₮ transfers. This eliminates the need for users to hold native tokens and enables frictionless payments that are ideal for remittances, micropayments, and global commerce.
